
J. Don Spillers Jr., DMD, MS, PC
Dr. Spillers is an active member and Deacon at Cross Point Baptist Church. He volunteers his time with the Georgia Baptist Children's Home and the Rehoboth Life Care Ministry. Dr. Spillers, his wife, Cheryl and their children have traveled to Africa with other doctors and missionaries to provide dental care, books and build a playground for an orphanage. When not at the office, he enjoys fishing, hunting and outdoor activities with family and friends.
One of Dr. Spillers' greatest joys in life is being able to help people. Afterall, this is what encouraged him to become an orthodontist!
Dr. Don Spillers earned his undergraduate Bachelor of Science in Biology at Georgia Southwestern College, his dental degree (Doctorate of Medicinal Dentistry) from the Medical College of Georgia, and his specialty in orthodontics from the University of Missouri, Kansas City.
Dr. Spillers is very active in the community. He is a member of the Georgia Dental Association, the American Association of Orthodontists, American Dental Association, a member and past president of the Central District Dental Society, South Georgia Orthodontic Study Club, Sleep Disorders Society and the Southern Association of Orthodontists. Dr. Spillers is the Senior Director of the Georgia Association of Orthodontists.
In Feburary 2005, Dr. Spillers was inducted as a Fellow of the Pierre Fauchard Academy. Founded in 1936, this prestigious International Dental Honor Organization was established to promote professionalism, integrity and ethics. The Academy was named after Dr. Pierre Fauchard, the Father of Modern Dentistry, who was born in 1678 in Brittany, France. The Academy accomplishes its goals through literature, by encouragement of advanced and continuing education, and by honoring those who have made outstanding and meritorious contributions to the science and art of dentistry or to society. The Academy has 7,700 members in 68 nations.
