Spillers Orthodontics Scholarship

Each year, Spillers Orthodontics provides two (2) $1,000 scholarships to graduating high school seniors who are either current or former patients of Spillers Orthodontics. The scholarship may be applied towards tuition, books, fees, or any other related expenses for the student’s first year of college.

Scholarship applicants must submit the two page application, two letters of reference, and an essay highlighting a particular person or event that has influenced their personal life and future aspirations. The essay must be 500 words or less. The criteria for scholarship selection is based on achievement, leadership, and service throughout the high school years, along with the essay and references. These attributes can be represented through school, community, or church activities.

 

2024 SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATIONS ARE DUE BY MARCH 15, 2024.

Scholarship winners 2023

Spillers Orthodontics is proud to announce the recipients of the 2023 Spillers Orthodontics Scholarship. 

High school seniors Bethany Underwood and Collin Key, both former patients, were selected from numerous applicants. Each will receive $1,000 to support their respective college educations.

Spillers Orthodontics is proud to announce the recipients of the 2022 Spillers Orthodontics Scholarship.

High school seniors Preston Prater and Conner Shelton, both former patients, were selected from numerous applicants. Each will receive $1,000 to support their respective college educations.

Spillers Orthodontics is proud to announce the recipients of the 2021 Spillers Orthodontics Scholarship. High school seniors Avery Adams and Timothy Feagin, both former patients, were selected from numerous applicants. Each will receive $1,000 to support their respective college educations.

Selected by an impartial board, Adams and Feagin were chosen based on their achievement, leadership and service throughout their high school years. They both wrote compelling essays about life experiences that influenced their future aspirations and received excellent references.

Adams, a Byron resident and graduate of The Westfield School, plans to attend the University of Georgia in Athens. Feagin, a resident of Warner Robins and graduate of Houston County High School, will attend Georgia State University in Atlanta.

“We are excited to invest in our future leaders,” says Dr. Don Spillers. “This year’s recipients are not only incredibly bright, but also people of integrity, character and vision, and it is our pleasure to support them in pursuit of their educational goals.” Both former patients, the 2020 Spillers Orthodontics Scholarship recipients are Bethany Brewton and Colton Walker. Brewton, a Warner Robins resident and Houston County High School graduate, will attend Kennesaw State University in Kennesaw, Ga. A Bonaire resident and Veterans High School graduate, Walker will attend Georgia Southern University in Statesboro. Selected from numerous applications by an impartial board, Brewton and Walker were chosen based on achievement, leadership and service throughout their high school years. “What great, well-rounded students these two are!” says Dr. Don Spillers. “I am pleased that the future of our community will benefit from the leadership of people like McKinley and Makiyah. They will make a positive impact wherever they go, and we’re excited to help them get there.”

Selected by an impartial board, Cranford and Dee were chosen based on their achievement, leadership and service throughout their high school years. They also received excellent recommendations.

A Cochran resident and Bleckley County High School graduate, Cranford will attend the University of North Georgia. Dee, a resident of Warner Robins and graduate of Warner Robins High School, will attend Georgia Tech.

Selected by an impartial board, Weston and Knight were chosen based on their achievement, leadership and service throughout their high school years. They also received excellent references.

A  Warner Robins resident and Houston County High School graduate, Weston will attend Fort Valley State University. Knight, a resident of Bonaire and graduate of The Westfield School, will attend The University of Georgia in Athens.

Selected by an impartial board, Kipper and White were chosen based on their achievement, leadership and service throughout their high school years. They also received excellent references.

Kipper, a resident of Warner Robins and graduate of Houston County High School, will attend Georgia Southern University in Statesboro. A  Macon resident and Mount de Sales graduate, White will attend the University of Georgia in Athens.

The 2016 Spillers Orthodontics Scholarship recipients are former patients Anna Lyons and Drew Smith!

A resident of Bonaire, Ga., and graduate of Veterans High School, Anna will attend Cedarville University in Cedarville, Ohio. Drew, a resident of Butler, Ga., and graduate of Taylor County High School, will attend Georgia Southern University in Statesboro.

High school seniors Cara Dunbar and Nisha Shetty, both former Spillers Orthodontics patients and residents of Warner Robins and Macon, Georgia, were selected from 120 applicants.

A graduate of Northside High School in Warner Robins or Macon, Cara will attend Young Harris College in Young Harris, Ga. Nisha, a graduate of Stratford Academy, Macon, will attend The University of Georgia in Athens.
